IPhone Users Can Ask Siri If They Have COVID-19
"Hey Siri, do I have COVID-19?" iPhone users are now able to ask their phones if they have the coronavirus. According to CNBC.com, Siri has been updated through Apple to provide users with a questionnaire of yes or no answers about symptoms to the coronavirus. The update was done this past Saturday and it's very easy to use.
Jenn, my girlfriend, who has an iPhone, tested it out. All you have to do is say, "Hey Siri, do I have the coronavirus or COVID-19?" Siri will then ask you a series of yes or no questions regarding symptoms. She will ask about fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath. If the symptoms are severe she would recommend that 911 is called. If they aren't severe (Jenn's were not). She advises you to keep track of them, avoid contact with others, and contact medical professionals if they become worse.
The program is used in conjunction with the US Public Health Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This service is only being used in the United States.
