The pressure is on for some weight conscience people.  Summer is here, so is shorts season, shirts coming off (for guys), ladies get their bathing suits ready and flip flops point to some of our beautiful Greater Binghamton county, city and state parks, lake, river and ocean beach fronts and backyard get togethers.  We've been cooped up long enough, get outside and enjoy it.  Summer is too short around here.

The truth is, there is an easy way to make those weight conscience individuals feel better if you only have a few days to look and feel less bloated and you don't necessarily need diet pills pr crazy crash diets.

You know that infamous commercial that you sometimes hear on the Hawk: "You might not be fat, you could just be bloated?"  That's sort of the idea here on EatThis.com with "36 Ways to Debloat in 36 Hours."  I will give you the shortlist of a few things that my friends have had luck with trying:

  • Ginger - Not just a castaway on 'Gilligan's Island,' but something that you can pick up in the produce isle that can actually deflate your stomach of gasses.  My friends swear by ginger (green) tea that you can find at Down To Earth health food store in Endicott.
  • Stay away from chewing gum, soda, fruit juice and dairy - they make you feel puffy and contain more sugar than you realize and that includes products that say sugar free, which is actually worse for you.
  • Drink lots of H2O- Flushing your system out can help you look thinner.  If you don't like plain water, try putting some fresh fruit or better yet, some fresh mint leaves that are easy to find this time of the year in backyards or in the herb section at your grocery store.
