The Bills have not been this good in a long time. Like a loooooooooooooong time.

True, the Bills made the playoffs two years back, but this year's team seems to be a much improved version of that one.

Josh Allen is really hitting his stride as quarterback. Devin Singletary is giving the team a reliable rushing option in the backfield. Even aside from that, the defense is among the league's best at suffocating the competition.

According to a New York Times playoff simulator, which runs predicts all teams' remaining games, Buffalo has a 94 percent chance of making the playoffs (two thumbs up).

However, the Bills don't have to wait until the end of the regular season to seal a playoff birth. In fact, they can do it as early as Sunday, December 8.

Here's what needs to happen this week in order to clinch a playoff birth:

  1. Bills defeat the Ravens
  2. Texans lose to the Broncos
  3. Oakland lose to or ties with the Titans
  4. Colts lose to or ties with the Buccaneers

So yes, a lot needs to happen, but it's not impossible. The Bills seem to be one of the few teams that can stop Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Tennessee, although the Bills beat them already this season, are a stout team that are hitting their stride at the perfect time. Tampa Bay is unpredictable and can put up points quick.

The big question is whether the Texans will lose to a sub-par Broncos team.

Aside from this though, the Bills may not need all these things to happen. Buffalo is still very much in the hunt for the AFC East crown, being only one game back from the Patriots for the lead.
