You may remember that back on August 26th, Dunkin' celebrated "Iced Coffee Day" by giving back to the community. During the one day event, every $1 from every cup of iced coffee sold at participating Dunkin' restaurants in Binghamton would benefit the UHS Foundation. I did my part, did you?

I like it when I can help out charitable groups and enjoy an Iced Coffee at the same time Is it a sign that I'm getting older if I like my coffee iced and my cider hot? Anyway, I digress.

The UHS Foundation is the charitable arm of the UHS Wilson Medical Center and UHS Binghamton General Hospital. The UHS Foundation raises money for new equipment, patient care facilities, and community outreach programs that help UHS Wilson Medical Center and UHS Binghamton General Hospital.

The foundation supports innovation, service, and quality at UHS. As part of its response to the coronavirus pandemic, they designated three floors at its two hospitals for the care of coronavirus patients.

The results are in and to no one's surprise, the community came through in a big way. On Tuesday, September 22nd, Dunkin' announced that they had a donation of $8,568 for the UHS Foundation. The presentation was made at the Dunkin' on Upper Front Street in Binghamton.

Iced Coffee Day has generated more than $38,000 for non-profits in the Southern Tier since 2018 and the community really came through in a big way this year. So a BIG thanks to all of you who took the time to run to Dunkin' on August 26th. It's amazing how we all can make such a difference one dollar at a time.
