I was driving by Rec Park in Binghamton and CFJ Park in Johnson City over the weekend, and I noticed how incredibly festive my favorite carousels are looking this time of the year.  Both historic carousels have big holiday spirit this Christmas season.

For the next three Saturdays (December 3,10 and 17) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Recreation Park on the West side of Binghamton will be hosting carousel lovers and family members for a free carriage ride on Binghamton's historic horses.

My alma mater, Seton Catholic Central will be providing music with their awesome band from 5:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m on Saturday December 3rd.  Music continues with the Southertiersmen, playing in perfect pitch from 6:45 p.m to 7:45 p.m.  The always great, Maine Community Band will play holiday music on December 10th from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and All Saints School will entertain that same night from 6:45 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

Families can enjoy Lights on the Carousel at CFJ Park in Johnson City every Friday and Saturday night through December 17th.  Bring your camera or phone, as Santa will be making an appearance.  We'll see if he likes the horses in Johnson City over the reindeer in the North Pole.
