It's that time of year...Fair season. There are many fairs to attend throughout the Southern Tier. The biggest Fair of the year is The Great New York State Fair in Syracuse, August 21st to September 2nd.

The Fair may be over a month away but they are looking for people to work it now. They are holding a Job Fair at the Martha Eddy Room of the Art and Home Center at the State Fairgrounds this Friday, July 12th from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m and Saturday, July 13th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

They are looking for people who are interested in temporary employment. They'll be interviewing for a variety of assignments including: general labor/maintenance/restrooms, parking attendants & cashiers along with safety staff.

If you want to work at a food or merchandise stand, you have to contact those vendors directly because The Fair does not employ vendors or concessionaires.

If you can't work every day at the State Fair, that'll limit available jobs. You may be subject to a background investigation/criminal history check and not everyone that attends the Job Fair will get an interview.

All positions will be at the State Fair, so go here to see all the employment opportunities. You can go here for a 2019 New York State Fair Employment Application and if you would like to apply online, go here.

There are many ways to "find your great" at the New York State Fair and this is one of them.
