Two COVID-19 vaccines have been developed and they are being administered to citizens all over the United States. I knew it was going to happen, and it already has, people are using their privilege to jump to the front of the Covid vaccine line.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says he knows about one incident where a person is trying to jump to the front of the COVID-19 vaccine line, and he says he’s not going to tolerate it.

There are reports that one healthcare provider, ParCare Community Health Network, administered the vaccine against state guidelines for administering it. Governor Cuomo says that the incident is being investigated and he is also referring the matter to the office of Attorney General Latitia James.

Governor Cuomo says that he will be signing an Executive Order that will increase the penalty for healthcare providers who go around the state guidelines regarding the priority of administering the vaccine. In other words, he wants to make sure that Frontline Workers, Health Care Workers, and the elderly are receiving their vaccines first.

Apparently, one healthcare provider administered the vaccine to someone before they were eligible to be vaccinated.

Governor Cuomo says that healthcare providers must now certify each person who receives the vaccine. He also says that healthcare providers who engage in fraudulent activity could receive a $1 million fine and have all of their state licenses rescinded.

Governor Cuomo said, “Anyone who engages in fraud is going to be held accountable, people talk, we will find out, and it’s not worth risking your license as well as a possible civil and criminal penalty.“

I’m certainly not surprised that somebody tried to jump to the front of the line. Some people believe that they are privileged and should not have to wait to get what they want or need.
