A 10-year-old girl in Ohio definitely warmed the hearts of some local firefighters when she asked them to help her save a very cold kitty cat who'd frozen to the ground during a huge winter storm.

Cierra Lockett spotted the kitty huddled on a sidewalk near her house, and went over to check on it, but found it was frozen to the spot and was unable to move. Cierra's grandma says the girl tried using hot water to free the kitty, but had no luck, so she called the fire department to come to the rescue.

The firemen arrived and found Cierra had wrapped a blanket around the kitty and offered it a bite to eat as well. They used their expertise to safely pry the feline off the pavement, but said that the girl was "the real hero."

Cierra and her family are letting the cat live with them until they find the owner.
