After the CRAZINESS of Black Friday and Thanksgiving, and the somewhat wild Cyber Monday, its time to give back a little. We spend a good part of Thanksgiving holiday buying for others and grabbing some cools things for ourselves, so I think #GivingTuesday is the perfect way to get some good karma as we head into the stretch that is Christmas and New Year’s.

We started our season of giving with our annual Food-A-Bago collecting so much food for our community and our listeners came through big time! But, just because we started early doesn’t mean we should end early. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that is fueled and created by social media and collaboration according to GivingTuesday.org.

#GivingTuesday doesn’t necessarily have to come from your wallet. It can be a simple as donating your time to an organization or just sharing ideas in your local community. GivingTuesday.org is an amazing resource to start your holiday and giving season.

#GivingTuesday is celebrated in over 98 countries and has raised over $170 million this year alone! For resources in your are check out GivingTuesday.org.

We have teamed up with the Oakdale Mall this holiday season to collect items such as hats, gloves, mittens, jackets etc. to be donated to multiple local charities. You can drop off these new or gently used items at the red holiday house near the Burlington at the mall. Let’s do something great this #GivingTuesday.
