If you grew up in the 70's, 80's or 90's, you no doubt remember seeing ads in magazines for Columbia House.  It seemed like an offer you couldn't refuse, offering you a bunch of CD's or cassettes for just a penny.  With the competition for iTunes, Columbia House filed for bankruptcy last year but wait a minute, they're back with a new twist.

Well maybe not so new after all.  This time the offer isn't CD's but vinyl albums, which over the last few years has made a major comeback.  I guess Dad was right, everything old is new again!

So, the Hawk would love to know, are you excited to have a mail-order vinyl music service back and do you think it will fly?

I still have some memories of receiving that big introduction package and opening that box of new records.  It was a great feeling AND it only cost a penny, and later $1... yeah, right!

It will be interesting to see if Columbia House can make enough money to stay afloat.  In the meantime, check out these vintage ads from the mid 1970's.  You may even remember it!
