A suspect in a shooting on East Main Street in Endicott is expected to be sentenced to eight years in prison.

Prosecutors say 43-year-old Antwan Goodman of Endicott pleaded guilty Thursday in Broome County Court to second-degree criminal possession of a weapon for discharging an illegal firearm.

Goodman was arrested by Endicott police in connection with a June 2 shooting at 1703 East Main Street. Investigators said a 26-year-old man was wounded in the incident. He was treated at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City.

Investigators said the shooting occurred during an evening argument. They say it was linked to a dispute that had occurred earlier in the day.

In his plea, Goodman admitted to possessing a .380 caliber handgun "with the intent to use it unlawfully."

Goodman is scheduled to be sentenced on November 12.
