As expected, Delaware County has passed 1,000 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.  January 19, the county reported 22 new cases for a total of 1,020 and one additional death for a total of 22.

Broome County reports three women in their 80s and 90s passed away bringing Broome’s death toll to 212.  There were 99 additional cases. Broome currently has 10,857 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic last March.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says he is still very concerned about a high hospitalization rate.  January 19, the county reported 151 residents hospitalized with COVID-19.  The Democrat says Health Department officials remain in constant contact with the local hospitals concerning admission rates and Intensive Care Unit bed capacity.

Chenango County reported two deaths for a total of 21 and 138 new cases since January 15 for a total of 1,750.

Tioga County only reported 7 additional cases from it’s last update on January 16 for a total of 2,249. The deaths remain unchanged at 64.

Cortland County had 19 new cases for a total of 3,027. Cortland County’s death toll remains at 58.
