Crime Victims Rights Week Observed in Broome County

National Crime Victims Rights Week is being observed in the area through April 13.

The Remembrance Wall commemorating local homicide victims is on display at the Oakdale Mall near where Macy’s had been located and will remain on display through the week.  The annual Crime Victims Rights Breakfast is at 8 a.m. April 12 at the Binghamton Club.

This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Past. Creating Hope for the Future.”

The observance started early this year with the marking last week of the 10th anniversary of the mass shooting at the American Civic Association on Front Street in Binghamton.

As part of that continued observance, and Crime Victims Rights Week, a documentary film about the events of April 3, 2009 is available for viewing at the Bundy Museum at 129 Main Street Binghamton Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 11 at 11:30 a.m.
