
Four Charged After Break-In at Big Dipper BBQ 2 in Conklin
On the morning of Saturday, April 19, 2025, a co-owner of Big Dipper BBQ 2 on Conklin Road arrived to open the restaurant only to find clear signs of a break-in.
A window air-conditioning unit had been broken and displaced, and ice cream was suspiciously strewn across the floor, prompting an immediate call to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office around 8:04 a.m.
Security Footage Reveals Four Suspects and Significant Damage
Surveillance video reviewed from earlier that morning, at approximately 12:52 a.m., captured four individuals inside the restaurant during the break-in. Deputies say the group caused several thousand dollars’ worth of damage to the building, including the door and the air conditioning unit. Multiple tubs of ice cream and bottles of soda were stolen, and a chest freezer was left open, contributing to further product loss.
Twenty-Two Tubs of Ice Cream Lost to Contamination
The vandalism and theft didn’t just result in property damage. According to the business, a total of twenty-two 5-gallon tubs of ice cream had to be discarded due to possible contamination.

The open freezer and discarded products represent a substantial financial loss for the family-run establishment, which is a longtime favorite in the Conklin community.
Community Tips Lead to Quick Arrests
Thanks to an investigation led by Broome County Sheriff’s Office detectives—and bolstered by tips from alert community members, all four individuals involved were successfully identified and taken into custody. Detectives credited the public's assistance as a key factor in the swift resolution of the case.
Two Adults and Two Juveniles Face Felony Charges
Tracy L. Bryce, 20, and Jordan C. Wilson, 20, both of Conklin, have each been charged with Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree and Burglary in the 3rd Degree, both Class D felonies.
Two juveniles, whose names have not been released due to age, were each charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, also a Class D felony.

Suspects Processed and Arraigned
Bryce and Wilson were processed at the Broome County Sheriff’s Office and arraigned at the Central Arraignment Part. The two juveniles were also arraigned separately and have since been released to their families.
