Nobody has more fun on the radio than Kix Brooks when he hosts the American Country Countdown, Saturday nights 6-10pm on 98.1 The Hawk.  He loves the music, counting 'em down as he says, the artist interviews and fan requests.  I guess that's why he has been named CMA National Broadcast Personality of the Year for the American Country Countdown.

According to TasteofCountry.com, there are few things Kix Brooks has not been able to do in his long and successful career.  You can now add cooking writer to his resume.

The singer/songwriter/actor/radio host/ winemaker loves doing his TV show, Steak Out With Kix Brooks for the Cooking Channel, so it's a natural that he comes out with a cook book. He's excited about his new book called Cookin’ It With Kix: The Art of Celebrating and the Fun of Outdoor Cooking.

“I’ve been huntin’, fishin’ and lovin’ every day and cookin’,” he adds with a chuckle. “I blame it on Louisiana. I was raised with a boat house in my backyard. There’s a huge fish cooker that you can put two huge pots on that always had water and wine and grease in the other so you could be boiling something or frying something. This whole history of growing up came back to me.”

Many of the recipes cover outdoor cooking, which is something Kix loves to do.  In my opinion, the guacamole recipe alone is worth the price of the book.

Cookin’ It With Kix: The Art of Celebrating and the Fun of Outdoor Cooking is available everywhere right now.
