A fourth person has died in Broome County of causes related to COVID-19.

The latest local death linked to the growing coronavirus pandemic was revealed Wednesday afternoon.

According to information provided by county government, there now have been at least 41 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Six people who had been diagnosed with coronavirus have recovered.

An interactive online map indicates there have been 15 confirmed cases in Johnson City and 14 in the city of Binghamton. The county database shows cases also have been reported in the village of Endicott as well as the towns of Vestal, Union, Windsor and Colesville.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar said there still are enough tests available for residents. He said efforts continue to find more test kits.

Garnar said the number of coronavirus cases in the county now is expected to reach its peak "in the next couple of weeks."
