Broome Adds to Coronavirus Positive Tally

In an update August 16 by the health department, Broome County is reporting a dozen new positive tests for the coronavirus since its August 14 post.

Broome County has a total of 1,106 coronavirus cases recorded since the start of the pandemic in March.  The County’s death toll from COVID-19 remains at 74.

Since August 14, Chenango County reported three new cases for a total of 218 and Tioga County reported one new case from Thursday for a total of 204. There have been seven deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Chenango County and 25 in Tioga County. 

Cortland County’s numbers were not changed since Thursday standing at 91 positive and one death and Delaware County remained at 98 cases and six deaths. 

New York State added 607 new cases for a total of 425,508 and there were six additional deaths reported Sunday for a total of 25,250.
