The Binghamton Police Department says they've seen a rise in thefts from cars citywide over the past few days.

In most of the cases, the cars were left unlocked by the owner and there were valuables left in plain sight. The Binghamton Police Department is reminding residents to lock their cars when unattended, to park in well lit areas if possible, and not to ever leave valuables in your car because that's a way to attract thieves.

If you see anyone suspicious near parked vehicles or where they shouldn't be, call the Binghamton Police at 607-723-5321 and give the best description you can of the suspects.
