Authorities say a man has been arrested after he allegedly threatened to harm people inside Union-Endicott High School.

According to Endicott police, 18-year-old Derrick Abney of Binghamton was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony. He also was charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.

Investigators say a 911 call came in around 12:15 p.m. Wednesday reporting a man with a gun had entered the school on East Main Street. The high school was placed in lockdown.

Police say Abney was taken into custody within three minutes of the call.

Detectives determined Abney had been involved in a dispute off school grounds with an acquaintance before he made the threat. He then entered the school building.

No weapon was found during searches inside the school and outside the building.

Abney was arraigned late Wednesday afternoon and ordered held at Broome County Jail without bail.
