The man suspected in the Easter Sunday shooting attack in downtown Binghamton was taken into custody in the village of Endicott.

Authorities say 23-year-old Travon Sanders of Brooklyn has been charged with second-degree attempted murder.

Investigators believe Sanders fired several shots into a parked vehicle on Susquehanna Street shortly before noon on Sunday. 40-year-old Grady Hunter of Binghamton sustained multiple injuries in the attack. He was reported to be in critical condition at a Syracuse hospital.

Detectives say Sanders was arrested early Tuesday morning. They say he had been located in the 1400 block of Monroe Street in Endicott. Binghamton police investigators were assisted by Endicott police in taking Sanders into custody.

Authorities say they found the handgun believed to have been used in the shooting. The weapon was located in Binghamton.
