How old were you when you were treated to your first circus?  I must have been 6 years or so and I remember it vividly.

I would keep the circus tickets my Dad picked up on my night stand and would show it to all my friends in the neighborhood.  My Mom and Dad would promise to take me to see the animals if I ate all my dinner.  Being so excited, I really had to be on my best behavior so I could get there early.

Walking to the animals was something that was surreal to me.  The only other animals I had seen this close were the ones at Ross Park Zoo.  This circus had it all.  Lions, tigers and bears.  Oh my!

There is nothing like being a kid and seeing the circus for the first time.  It truly is a special event for kids of all ages.

The Royal Hanneford Circus returns for 4 big shows at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena this weekend, May 3rd, 4th and 5th.  Friday's Binghamton premiere is at 7pm.  Saturday at 10:30am, 3:00 and 7pm.  Sunday's final show is 3pm.  A portion of all ticket sales benefit the wonderful work of the Kalurah Shriners Activities.
