The Binghamton Black Bears started their weekend off strong with an 8-1 victory in front of over 4,000 people at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena. They stumbled a little on Saturday falling 6-2 to Port Huron but they don't have to wait long to get back on the winning track.

The Black Bears will take on the Danbury Hat Tricks on Wednesday, November 24th and I hope this becomes a Thanksgiving Eve tradition. The day before Thanksgiving is believed to be the biggest night out for the entire year so why not enjoy some hockey.

I've spoken to several Binghamton hockey fans and they've said to me that this is the most fun they've had at the hockey games in years. For one, they are playing exciting and winning hockey. Secondly, you can tell that the players LOVE playing in Binghamton.

Their motto is "Your City, Your Team" and they are acting like it. The team is banging on the plexiglass after a goal like they are high-fiving the fans and raising the roof before a face-off. It's electric and the fans (including me) are loving it.

Binghamton Black Bears Are Teaming Up With CHOW

Just a reminder that you can save some money and help the hungry here in the Southern Tier this hockey season. The Binghamton Black Bears and CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) are teaming up and offering a "buy one, get one free" ticket voucher.

For every 10-non-perishable food items that you donate, you'll get this offer. You can come to the Binghamton Black Bears Front Office at the arena on non-game days or on the concourse behind Section One on game night. The ticket can be used for any upcoming regular-season home game.

Binghamton Black Bears Thanksgiving Eve Home Game

Get there early for live music on the concourse beginning at 5:30 with face-off at 7 p.m. I'm doing Chuck-a-Puck again this year between the 2nd and 3rd period and someone will win a 2022 CFMOTO at the end of the season.

On Thanksgiving Eve, you could even win a free frozen turkey...although watching someone win a live turkey would be fun to see too. Gobble Gobble! By the way, this will be your last chance to see them until Saturday, December 4th, so don't miss it.

Speaking of CHOW, here are some other items that they are looking for.
