The excitement is roaring in Broome County as the Binghamton Black Bears have started their fourth year and are determined  to defend their Commissioner Cup title.

The Hudson Valley Venom come the arena on Saturday, October19th. It's Domestic Violence Awareness Night and he Binghamton Black Bear players will be wearing specialty jerseys. All fans are encouraged to wear purple shirts to the game. I'll be wearing my purple and I hope you will too.

They will be auctioned off after the game to benefit the BC Crime Victims Assistance Center. It's these special touches that make the Black Bears games an unforgettable experience for fans of all ages.

Here's another thing - No team has ever repeated as champion in the Federal Prospects Hockey League Commissioner Cup. However, the Binghamton Black Bears are determined to break that streak. The team boasts a talented roster featuring a perfect blend of seasoned veterans and young up-and-comers.

Led by Head Coach, Brant Sherwood along with captain Tyson Kirkby and FPHL Defenseman of the Year, Dakota Bohn, the Black Bears are ready to make a strong run at the Commissioner Cup once again.

There are many exciting events happening with the Binghamton Black Bears this season including the Teddy Bear Toss to also benefit the BC Crime Victims Assistance Center in December.

I'll also be back this season as your host for Chuck-a-Puck between the 2nd and 3rd period to benefit the Southern Tier Hockey Association (STHA), the official home of Southern Tier Youth Hockey
