Awesome Races That Involve Eating and Drinking
As we usher in 2015, it’s time to set a New Year’s Resolution if you haven't already.
For many people, New Year's Resolutions involves getting fit and maybe running a race. But why just run a race that serves nothing but granola bars and Gatorade when you can run a race that provides real food like pizza and beer?
Here are some awesome races that involve eating and drinking:
- Corndog Classic – This 5K race requires you to consume a mini corndog, a mini caramel apple, and lemonade (or beer) before you cross the finish line.
- April Fool's Day Twinkie Run – In Ann Arbor, Michigan, this 5K race serves Twinkies at the starting point and again at mile 1.5, plus grilled Twinkies once you’re done.
- Burrito Dash – The 5K Burrito Dash feeds runners in Columbia, South Carolina, a "race-friendly sized" burrito at the halfway point before sending them back toward the finish line with a belly full of beans.
- New York City Pizza Run – Why run the painful New York City Marathon when you can run two miles with three slices of pizza served along the way and free beer at the finish line?
