Authorities Respond to Motorcycle Crash in Heavy Fog in Whitney Point

One person is reportedly being treated for injuries following crash on Interstate 81 just north of the Whitney Point exit (Exit 8).

Broome County Emergency Services officials reported at around 7:45 a.m. August 5 the crash had occurred in heavy fog at mile marker 33.

Motorists in the area said traffic was backing up for over an hour but emergency crews were cleared from the scene by around 8:30 a.m.

There was no information about the cause of the crash, the name of the driver or the severity of the injuries.
