Some of you may know, but my Mom passed away from Alzheimer's disease a few years ago.  She was actually diagnosed with and lived with Dementia ten years prior to this.  If you know anyone who has this heart wrenching disease, you most likely know that you live with it along with your loved one.  Alzheimer's robs your loved one of their dignity and is one of the cruelest diseases out there. Every day can be a challenge. And it's no longer an elderly disease.  Sadly, Dementia has been diagnosed in some 35 year olds.  It's a very sad thing and there is no cure.  Some say, proper diet and exercise can prevent this disease.

September 21st is Alzheimer's Action Day, to help raise awareness of this devastating disease during World Alzheimer's month.  To do this, the Alzheimer's Association is asking everyone to consider wearing purple, the official color of the Alzheimer's movement.  So if you can, on September 21st, wear purple to honor the more than 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer's disease and the millions more who care for them.  If you run in to me on Friday, you will notice I'll be wearing purple.  If you want more information on Alzheimer's Action Day, check out the link below.
