It was a great year for the Binghamton Senators but for the 2nd straight year it came to a early end courtesy of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The Sens clinched it's first East Division title since 2004-05. They had 96 points for the 2nd straight year. They had a 44-24-3-5 record under second year head coach, Luke Richardson.

Luke has 1 year left on his contract.  He has said that he wants to stay in Binghamton during that time. I thought he did another outstanding job with his players. I hope we can keep him around even longer than that.

The Sens led the entire AHL with 276 goals and 16 short-handed goals for the regular season. Mike Hoffman and Stephane Da Costa were in the top 20 for points scored. Mike was in the top 20 even after being recalled to Ottawa for the last 26 games.

Mike and Stephane will become restricted free agents over the summer. Thanks again to the B-Sens for an exciting year on the ice. My hope for next year is that we won't play the Penguins in the playoffs. Like in 2011, when the Sens won it all.
