Will your kids looking for a summer job?  It's not even Spring yet in the Southern Tier but VINES (Volunteers Improving Neighborhood Environments) is now accepting applications for Grow Binghamton, a summer youth employment program for local youth looking for a meaningful summer job.   If you are 15-21 and live in the City of Binghamton, you can apply.

Grow Binghamton is the new name for Summer Youth Program taking place for 6 weeks from July 7-August 14th.  The program is seeking 14 youth to farm land on the Urban Farm in Downtown Binghamton and the CHOW Farm in Conklin. Youth will also train in various areas including, workforce, nutrition, agriculture, and team building.

Youth can apply online through their website at vinesgardens.org or can call or text Natalie at 607-232-3486 to request a paper application.  Applications are due by April 13, 2015.  This is a competitive position; only 14 youth will be accepted.

If you're still unsure if this is for you but wanted to check out more information, attend the info session (with pizza) on Wednesday March 25th from 4-5pm in the United Presbyterian Church, 42 Chenango Street, Binghamton.  This would be a good opportunity to see what it's all about, ask questions and eat pizza!
