Johnson City's Peace and Justice Group at St. James Church, will be holding it's fourth voluntary gun exchange for grocery gift certificates Saturday May 11th from 9am to Noon in the church parking lot behind St. James Church Rectory, 147 Main Street, Johnson City.

It's important to note that this is a no-questions-asked event for people looking to get rid of any guns for no reason or any reason at all. Over the past few years, the fundraiser collected over 85 guns.

Those who wish to exchange their handguns or long guns for a $50.00 or $100.00 grocery gift card, must be in good condition or in working order.  Each gun will be inspected by a Broome County Sherriff's representative to ensure the gun is in working condition.  Any guns collected will be turned over to the Sherriff's Department and will be destroyed.

The church group's goal is to send a good message that could prevent a future tragedy within the Greater Binghamton community.
