Tidbit Tuesday: Fight Fogginess, Lift Your Mood and Heal Cuts and Scrapes
It's Tidbit Tuesday- where I share three little tidbits with you to make life a little easier. Today I'll tell you how to fight fogginess, lift your mood and heal cuts and scrapes. So grab a cup of coffee and learn how to make life a little simpler!
Fight fogginess with maple syrup- Start your day with a breakfast that includes maple syrup. It’s an excellent source of manganese, a mineral now study-proven to keep you clear-headed and energized for hours. And since nearly 40% of Americans don’t get enough of it in their diets, it may be what you need to power through a slump.
Lift your mood with lemons- Just the scent of lemons can help you feel happier and more relaxed. How? By triggering a change in brain chemistry that lifts your levels of feel-good hormones and suppresses production of stress hormones.
Heal cuts and scrapes with honey-Got a minor cut or scrape? The perfect remedy is as close as your sugar bowl. A new study from the University of Wolverhampton found that pouring granulated sugar on a wound reduces pain and cuts healing time. The sweetener kills bacteria by absorbing the moisture they need to live. Plus, sugar is an anti-inflammatory so it helps quell pain. To use: Sprinkle a small amount of sugar over a minor wound, brush off the excess granules and cover with a bandage.
