In times of need, our community steps up in a huge way. We wrapped up our annual Food-A-Bago food drive to benefit CHOW on Monday and I’m excited to tell you that the totals are in and that they don’t disappoint.

Mike Leahey, Brome County CHOW director told us that the CHOW shelves were emptier than he’d seen them in the past four years and when we shared that news with you, you came to the rescue. Our goal this year was to be able to raise enough through donations to provide 10,000 meals, and thanks to you and our community, we were able to exceed that, bringing in in enough food and cash donations for 11,720 meals!

The weight of the food you donated to CHOW through Food-A-Bago came to 7,907 pounds, literally just under 4 tons, which is substantially more than was raised in 2015. An additional 1,358 pounds of food was collected from CHOW barrels that were placed all around Broome County.

Our sincerest gratitude to everyone who made a donation, whether big or small. These are just some of the faces of those in and around our community who stepped up to help our neighbors in need.
