We're just five days into 2015 and already a bunch of new laws have been put into place. From banning selfies with tigers to requiring chickens to be able to extend their limbs, here are four new laws.

Recycling Electronics in New York:  If you got a new electronic device like a TV or tablet for Christmas, don't even think about tossing your old one in the trash because it's illegal in the state of New York.  There will be a grace period for people caught tossing electronics in the trash, but that grace period expires in March and after that if you get caught, you'll be nailed with a $100 fine.

Tiger Selfies in New York: I know this is going to break your heart, but effective right this very second, taking selfies with tigers is banned in New York State. I'm still not sure why anyone would want to do this, but if you were considering it, just don't.

If you're thinking that maybe the tiger selfie isn't a legit law, it is and Melissa from the Binghamton Zoo called in to chat with us about it. Here's what she had to say:

Chicken Coops in California:  A state law that took effect on the 1st in California requires egg laying hens to have enough space to fully extend their limbs. In other words, they have to be able to live in cages that aren't so cramped. Already, egg prices in California have risen by 40%. Perhaps to help cover the cost of the supplies needed to build new cages?

Suspended Licenses in Nevada: If this isn't a way to scare kids into staying in school, I have no idea what is.There's a new law in Nevada that will suspend a teen's license if they're caught missing class.
