The 19 room Sherwood Inn has always been a beautiful cornerstone in Greene and meeting place for generations of residents and dignitaries alike, has a colorful history dating back to the early 1900's when the hotel opened its' doors as a country inn.  The structure has had a few fires early in its history and again in 1995.

Much has been written about the hotel being haunted.  As the story goes, a female committed suicide by jumping off the top floor balcony. Her image is said to haunt her old room (28) and the hallway. Some have felt her presence in the dining room and basement.

According to Don Dunlap, he and his son are in the planning stages of renovation and plans may include reopening the restaurant and tavern.  Their intension is restore the natural beauty of the historic inn, while making many updates.  Plans call for a grand opening in 2013 to mark the hotel's 100th Anniversary.

Both owners are encouraged by the great community support they are receiving.  People are excited about the future of the Sherwood Inn.
