Have you ever sent someone a message on Facebook and wished after the fact that you could just make it disappear? Well, soon you might be able to do just that.

In what I can only guess is an attempt to copy Snapchat, Facebook is working on a way to make messages disappear.

All of this is still in the experimental phases, but those in the know say that the feature, which can be activated by tapping an hourglass icon in the top right of the chat window, will allow people to send messages that automatically disappear after an hour. Pressing the icon will turn it on and that basically means anything sent will self-destruct, but if you change your mind, you can turn it off the same way that you turned it on.

Sounds kind of cool, right?

What's really interesting about this move by Facebook is that they once offered $3 billion to buy Snapchat, but the offer was turned down and now it would appear that Facebook is pretty much trying to mimic the way Snapchat works.
