Sara Evans might be a country star, but she's still humble enough to hit her knees and ask for a little help and protection from above.

Sara recently stopped by the CMT offices and told the staffers there: "we have a mom's prayer group that gets together every Thursday morning, and we pray for all the boys. Because of the concussion aspect of it, it's serious business."

Sara's 14-year-old son Avery plays football with other eight graders and Sara couldn't be more proud of him. "He's playing football, and he is having a great season," Sara said. "And he will absolutely play in high school. Are you kidding? His stepfather is Jay Barker!"

Still, as a football mom, Sara knows the game can be rough and so she asks God for a little extra protection every Thursday before Avery hits the field.

In addition to watching her boy play football, Sara has been working on new music and she's also dabbled in covering some pop songs including "Just Give Me a Reason" originally sung by Pink and Nate Ruess from Fun. Check it out- she sounds fantastic!
