One hopeless romantic decided to do something truly special for his bride-to-be. He panned for enough Scottish gold in the Highland rivers to make an engagement ring and two wedding rings, all with 22 karat purity.

If you think this was an easy task, think again. This amazing feat took the Scotsman 18 months and some basic mining tools before he scraped together enough of the precious metal to take to the goldsmith.

But he did it. And when the man and his wife exchanged those rings at their ceremony in Antigua, that jewelry had more meaning for them than any ring that has ever been purchased at Tiffany's and Harry Winston combined.
