Pope Francis Commits To Nature

Recently, the new head of the Roman Catholic Church, Pope Francis declared that one of his major goals was to protect nature.  A pretty powerful stand in the world of politics today.

World Youth Day is happening now through July 28th in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where the Pope has been addressing the people throughout the week.  According to the World Wildlife Fund, among his first highly visible expressions to his recent commitment, Pope Francis will focus on safeguarding the environment with focus on conservation of the Amazon and its overwhelming importance to Brazil and the world.

The events in Rio continue to attract several million people in their teens and twenties.
