Deer hunters in Pennsylvania had a mild start to hunting season today as temperatures reached 40 degrees this morning. More than 750,000 hunters are expected to be out there today.

Snow cover would be especially helpful to hunters this firearms season as deer are not venturing out of the woods.  Temperatures this week are expected to be in the mid 30's Tuesday and back to mid 40's on Wednesday.

Pennsylvania license fees are $20.70 for adult residents and $101.70 for adult nonresidents.  With Binghamton boarding on the Pennsylvania border, some Southern Tier hunters carry duel licenses to get more out of the short hunting season.

A word of caution for hunters.  CWD is not known to be transmitted to humans, but people are advised not to consume meat from deer that test positive for CWD.
