It's no secret that I'm a big Willie Nelson fan.  I never missed him when he came to Binghamton and have even had the fortune of meeting him in person a couple of times.  This talented icon is as humble and down to earth as they come.

Willie's fans are about to get to know this 82 year old entertainer a little better, when he releases his new memoir 'It's A Long Story: My Life' on May 5th.  It was written by Willie with four-time Gleason Music Book winner, David Ritz.

I don't believe there isn't an honor Willie hasn't received for his six decades in the music industry.  This is the man who has released over 100 albums, written some of country music's great songs, appeared in major motion pictures, a sting of TV credits, CMA Awards, 10 Grammy awards and a lifetime achievement award by the prestigious Kennedy Center honors.

The book will cover a bunch of stories with his famous collaborators like Waylon Jennings, Ray Price, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and Patsy Cline.  Willie will also talk about how his sound didn't fit the Nashville mold when he first arrived in Nashville.

This is one book I look forward to adding to my collection.  Willie is what country music is all about and a living legend.
