If you're a SUNY Broome student there is a new safety app for your smartphone that could save your life.

SUNY Broome’s Office of Public Safety has adopted the use of the In Case of Crisis app, which is available for use by the campus community.  It includes the campus’ Emergency Response Guide, offering procedures for a wide range of emergencies, from campus or building evacuation to active shooter situations, tornadoes and sexual assault. Users can file incident reports and contact emergency responders directly from the app.

"Public Safety is pleased to be able to offer the new In Case of Crisis App. It places our campus emergency response guidelines in the palm of our student hands,” said Office of Public Safety Chief Joseph O’Connor. “It also serves as a tool to report incidents. With one touch, they can dial the 911 emergency number or select a button to file a written hazard or incident report."

Information Technology services also uses the app, and includes information pertaining to the help desk, computer labs, passwords, policies and more. The app also include a flashlight tool and a siren in the lower left corner.
