How Much Should You Spend on a Graduation Gift in the Greater Binghamton Area?

Ahhh graduation from college seems so long ago. A happy time for sure. High school is even more of a distant memory.

With Binghamton University, Broome Community College and other area school ceremonies behind us (congrats to all area graduates!), there are still a bunch of high school graduations ahead.

So how much money is considered a good gift for the graduate in your life?  According to a new survey in the 'Wall Street Journal,'  people give an average of $111 for a high school graduation, $243 for a college graduation and $256 for a grad school graduation.  Way more than I remember receiving but these figures are the averages.

It sounds like every little bit helps, since the survey also found the average undergrad now finishes school with around $14,000 in debt.
