The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring Our Heroes Hiring Fair is scheduled for today, May 8th, at the National Guard Armory in Binghamton.

If you’re a veteran or military member and looking for a job, you might want to check out the hiring fair today. You’re welcome to bring your spouse with you if they too are looking for a job.

According to a press release issued by Governor Cumo’s office:

The fair is designed to allow National Guard Soldiers and Airmen, military Reserve members, Active Duty service members, veterans and military spouses to submit applications to prospective employers and also learn how to use job-hunting tools.

Governor Cumo said:

By hosting these job fairs, New York is helping ensure that our heroes, both active duty and veterans, have an opportunity to find good jobs. "Our service men and women have sacrificed so much for our state and nation, and it is only appropriate that we do everything we can to help them find employment in our state's economy.

Major General Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General of New York said:

Our Guard Soldiers and Airmen, reserve military members, and active duty veterans are valuable employees for any business. They are educated, disciplined, and dedicated. The skills and work habits they have acquired serving our country add value to the civilian workplace as well.

The National Guard Armory is located at 85 West End Avenue in Binghamton and the hiring fair will be held from 1pm-4pm.
