It's a full on battle between Lady A and newcomer Eric Paslay in the "who sings it better" competition.

On September 13, 2011, Lady Antebellum released the album "Own the Night" and on that album was a song called "Friday Night."  Take a listen:

I think that "Friday Night" was one of the most underrated songs on Lady A's album.  It had a catchy beat and lyrics, but didn't really do anything on the charts.  And then it was released by Eric Paslay.

Eric Paslay is credited with writing Jake Owen’s hit “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” as well as the title track for Donny and Marie Osmond’s country set “The Good Life” as well as songs recorded by both Lady Antebellum and the Eli Young Band.

In April of this year, Eric Paslay, decided to release his rendition of the song he co-wrote:

I'm absolutely in love with Eric's version and apparently I'm not the only one because Eric's version of "Friday Night" has climbed to the number 6 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list, but it's not about what I think.  It's about what you think and I'd love for you to take a listen to both Lady A's version and to Eric Paslay's version and let me know who you think covers the song better.
