A trip to the local fire department paid off for one five-year-old in a big way. Cloe Woods visited the firehouse with her pre-K class to learn about fire safety and everything she learned, she used to save her blind grandma's life.

Cloe Woods' teacher, Brittany Gaillot, told WWLTV, "They talked to the kids saying if there was a fire you need to get out of the house." Cloe was definitely paying close attention.

Cloe, who lives in Louisiana, woke up to the smell of smell of smoke and the sound of the smoke alarm. Apparently the stove was left on and caught fire. Cloe was home alone with her elderly grandmother and immediately ran into her grandma's room and insisted they get out of the house.

Cloe's grandma wanted to get her shoes first, but Cloe told her she couldn't and instructed her grandma, who is blind, to place her hand on her shoulder and then this brave little girl led her grandma and the family pet to safety.

Sweet little Cloe is being praised for her heroics and a GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family cover the loss of their house and belongings.
