The Ice Bucket Challenge is all the rage on Facebook these days and one video in particular has struck a chord. If you don't know what the challenge is all about, it's being done to raise awareness and funds for ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Lou Gehrig's is a progressive neurodegenerative illness that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord and those diagnosed are given a life expectancy of two to five years.

Gabriella Palko, of Barrington, Rhode Island, took the Ice Bucket Challenge to a whole new level because not only did she participate, but she teamed up with her dad, Kreg, who suffers from ALS. I'm not even kidding when I tell you that this made me tear up. Watch as Gabriella and her dad douse themselves in frigid water:

Here are the words that Gabby's father spoke: "Hi, I’m Kreg Palko and I have ALS. First of all I’d like to thank Pete Frates and Team FrateTrain for drawing attention to ALS. You’re doing a great thing for the cause. I can't stand by and watch everyone pour ice on their heads without joining in myself. So I’d like to nominate Chris Patton, a distinguished alumni from BC and his daughter Nicole for the ice bucket challenge. Thank you everyone on behalf of all of us who have ALS. Thank you"
