Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney met in Nashville in December 2012 and started writing the day after they met. Ironically, the first song they ever wrote together got put on hold for Rascal Flatts, which makes me wonder if Dan + Shay draw inspiration from the group because they sound so much like them.

To say Dan + Shay are having a good year would be an understatement. "19 You + Me" was the most added debut song of 2013 and it set the record for the biggest first week by a new group in Country Aircheck history.

Not only will Dan + Shay make their Grand Ole Opry debut on February 1st, but they're also nominated from the Academy of Country Music Awards Vocal Duo of the Year and will be opening for Hunter Hayes on his upcoming "We're Not Invisible" tour, which kicks off in March and then they'll be opening for Blake Shelton's "Ten Times Crazier" tour, which kicks off in June.
