If you feel like Hollywood is calling your name maybe it's because it is! Hollywood is coming to Binghamton and is on the hunt for locals from Broome and Delaware Counties to work as paid background and extras in an Amazon show. Grant Wilfley Casting will be looking people to portray 1950s resort guests for the Amazon series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

An open casting call will be held from 11 a.m -4 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th at the Broome County Forum on Washington Street in downtown Binghamton. Casting agents are looking for people who have 1950s appropriate hair, or who would be willing to have their hair cut. You also have to be okay working around smoke and can't have any allergies to wool. You'll need to bring a valid ID to the casting. No experience is necessary, but you should be prepared to have a digital photo taken. If you have one, you're encouraged to bring a headshot and performance resume, but this is not required.

If you're selected to work as a paid background or extra on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, you'll need to be available for filming June 18th-29th in Deposit.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is set in the 1950s in Manhattan and centers around Miriam "Midge" Maisel. Midge has always been a "good girl." She's done everything she's been told to do. She went to college, got married, and had kids. But one day she discovers that she actually has quite a flair for stand-up comedy.  Midge's life is tossed upside down when her husband leaves her for his secretary. Now Midge has to work even harder to create her own nitch in a male-dominated world.  Midge is played by actress Rachel Brosnahan, who is best known for House of Cards and Patriots Day.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a 60-minute Amazon show and is written and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino of Gilmore Girls fame.
