As I sit here typing this, I had to change from jeans into yoga pants to make a little more room because I am so over the top full. And that's a good thing!

Binghamton Restaurant Week is in full swing through September 26th so if there’s a local restaurant you’ve wanted to check out, but haven’t yet, this is the time to do it.

While I've driven by it a million times, I’ve never been to South Side Yanni's, so when I saw it was on the list of participating restaurants, I knew I had to go and I’m so glad I did.  Glenn and I went for lunch and didn’t leave disappointed.

South Side Yanni’s is offering a 3 course meal for only $10 for lunch during Binghamton Restaurant Week.  I started with a fresh side salad topped with the most melt-in-your-mouth delicious croutons I’ve ever had as my appetizer and then had a chicken gyro with fries as my main course and finished off my meal with a mouth watering good lemon cupcake.

Glenn started his meal with prime rib soup.  He let me have a taste and it tasted just as good as the kind my grandma used to make.  He followed the soup with a fried haddock sandwich and strawberry cupcake for dessert.

I’m a pretty big critic when it comes to gyros.  Not that I’m an expert, but I know how I like mine made and South Side Yanni’s didn’t disappoint.  I was surprised at how much sauce was included inside the gyro- something I can’t ever get enough of. My gyro was so filling that I couldn't finish it or my fries- and I almost never leave fries on my plate. I definitely think a return trip is in order!

Don’t forget that Binghamton Restaurant Week is going on through September 26th and this is an amazing chance to check out some local restaurants and help out a good cause too as a portion of the proceeds benefit CHOW.
