It's been great weather for baseball in the Southern Tier.  With just 12 games to go in the regular season, the Binghamton Mets are in 5th place and the next 5 games will determine if their season will be extended.

We are so lucky to have what I consider the greatest American sport in history right in our own backyard.  The Southern Tier is rich in baseball tradition and looking back, it would be difficult to find a classier organization than the Binghamton Mets. If there is a fundraiser, a natural disaster, like last year's flood, the B-Mets have always proved that they are there for the community.  They truly care.  And oh yeah, thanks for some really fun Hawk promotions this season!  From the Hawk nest section to the Hawk sky boxes, we really had fun with our listeners.

Just so you know, there's still some great baseball in the coming weeks.  You can catch all the games on our sister station, News Radio 1290 or better yet, take meet your friends out to a game or take your family to NYSEG stadium in downtown Binghamton.  The remaining scheduled home games for the 2012 season include:

Friday 31 August - 7:05pm game time *

Saturday 1 September - 7:05pm game time *

Sunday 2 September  @ 6:35pm **

Monday 3 September @ 1:05pm

*  Toyota Fireworks Series

** Fireworks AND 98.1 the Hawk Cost Cutters Kids Eat Free Family Fun Night
