Authorities say the crash happened on McDonald Avenue, just east of Front Street, around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The small red Hyundai Accent apparently was heading southbound when it went past a stop sign and crashed into the house at 4 McDonald Avenue.

A woman who was driving the car was the only occupant of the vehicle. She was evaluated by Binghamton Fire Department medics but apparently escaped injury.

The car became wedged under the porch at the northwest corner of the home. No one inside the house was hurt in the incident.

City firefighters stood by at the scene while the wrecked vehicle was pulled away from the damaged structure.

Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
